Tips
Keep it simple
You don’t need to “pre-clean.” The goal is just to make surfaces accessible so we can focus on cleaning — not moving clutter.
A few quick steps before we arrive can improve results, reduce time spent rearranging items, and help the visit run smoothly.
Quick prep checklist (5–15 minutes)
- Clear counters where possible: Kitchen and bathroom counters are the biggest time-savers.
- Pick up floors: Clothing, toys, and loose items make vacuuming/mopping slower.
- Set priorities: One note is enough (example: “extra focus on bathrooms” or “kitchen + floors today”).
- Secure pets if needed: Especially if they’re anxious, protective, or likely to run out the door.
- Access instructions: Parking, buzzer codes, keys, alarms — share anything we need to enter easily.
What you don’t need to do
A lot of people overthink prep. You don’t need to scrub, dust, or stress. We’re coming to clean. The best “prep” is simply
giving us access to surfaces and floors so we can do quality work efficiently.
Helpful for first-time cleans
If it’s your first professional clean in a while, the home may need a more detailed reset before it’s easy to maintain.
In that case, it’s usually best to start with deep cleaning, then move into
regular cleaning for ongoing upkeep.
FAQ
- Do I need to be home? Not necessarily — many clients aren’t home. Just provide access instructions and priorities.
- Should I tidy bedrooms? A quick pickup helps. If floors are clear, vacuuming and finishing details are much easier.
- What if I’m running late or still packing? No worries — just message your priority areas so time is used efficiently.
